The Town of Needham is located on rocky uplands within a loop of the Charles River in the eastern section of Norfolk County, Massachusetts, bordered by Wellesley on the west and northwest, Newton on the north and northeast, the West Roxbury section of Boston on the east, Dedham on the southeast and south, and Westwood and Dover on the south. Needham is 10 miles southwest of Boston, 29 miles east of Worcester, and about 208 miles from New York City. Total Area is 12.75 square miles. The Town was first settled in 1680.  Today the population is over 31,000 of which more than a third is families with children  enrolled in area schools. 

Needham puplic schools consistenly record some of the highest scores on the state MCAS exams used to evaluate performance in grades 3 through 9.  Public schools include five elementry, one middle and a recently renovated high school.  The Town includes two Catholic schools (Elementry and Middle) as well as St. Sebastian college prep school;.  Needham is also home to Olin College of Engeneering and borders Babson College campus
